普氏能源資訊（Platts）5月28日報導，沙烏地阿拉伯國家石油公司沙烏地阿美石油（Saudi Aramco）表示，2012年公司平均原油產量達到950.6萬桶/日，創下逾30年來的最高水平；原油出口總量達到25.21億桶，或約690萬桶/日，主要是受到利比亞產量中斷以及西方對伊朗原油實施制裁的刺激。2012年該公司可開採和探明原油和凝析油儲量增加至2,602億桶，比2011年的2,597億桶增加5億桶。

2012年，亞洲市場是沙國原油的最大客戶，佔53.2%比重，但比例較前一年的54.7%下降；美國市場的出口佔比則較2011年的16%提升至16.5%；歐洲與地中海的出口佔比分別為5%與7.4%，其餘17.8%則銷往全球其他地區。沙烏地阿美石油也表示，其原油產能仍維持在每日1,200萬桶不變。

《油氣雜誌》（Oil & Gas Journal）年度報告預估，2012年世界原油產量年增2.9%至平均每日7,572萬桶；其中，俄羅斯原油日產量年增1.2%至1,045萬桶，沙烏地阿拉伯原油日產量年增6.6%至996萬桶，美國原油日產量年增11.9%至633萬桶，中國大陸原油日產量略增至408萬桶，加拿大原油日產量年增6.6%至309.5萬桶。
