【本報訊】會員來自全國各地的台中市雕塑協會，本次將展出約60件雕塑作品。風格從傳統到現代，從具象到抽象；創作媒材從石雕、木雕、鐵雕、銅雕、不鏽鋼、塑膠FRP、陶藝、石膏等包羅萬象。

當代雕塑拜科技進步及豐富多元之賜，讓藝術家有更多面對不同新媒材的機會，同時也考驗他們對各項媒材的敏銳度及元素的掌握。五花八門的創作形式是當代雕塑的表現，也常以反動的姿態出現，挑戰既定的美學和秩序，讓藝術家有更多的自由揮灑空間，探索、表現未知領域。

中部地區的立體雕塑創作人口居全國之冠，其中又以台中市雕塑學會為主體，幾乎囊括了中部地區的雕塑創作人才。一年一度的中部雕塑展，不僅是台中市雕塑學會的會員聯展，也是中部地區雕塑界的一大盛事，更是中部地區雕塑發展史的縮影，其重要性與影響力可想而知。
