總統府25日清晨5點遭到砂石車高速衝撞，人在台中的副總統吳敦義表示，有需要改進、再加強的，都要改進跟加強，但沒有維安規格升高的問題。

吳敦義表示，早上就出發到台中，相關單位回報肇事者沒有生命危險。他強調，希望能夠了解原因，有需要改進的、再加強的，都要改進跟加強，讓社會減少這種狀況。

對於是否加重總統府維安，吳敦義表示，「沒有所謂維安規格要不要加重的問題，相信每一個工作同仁都會提高警覺，但要防止這種事件發生，這是第一重要的事情。」
