美要求日本歸還300公斤鈽原料

核能安全是全球關注議題，美國、日本政府人員透露，美國歐巴馬政府已要求日本將300公斤的鈽原料交還美國保管。
日本共同社26日報導指稱，這批鈽燃料是美國在冷戰時期提供給日本，用於茨城縣東海村「快中子臨界裝置」的燃料，重量約300公斤。東海村的JCO核燃料廠曾在1999年9月發生輻射外洩事故，當時有2人死亡，666人遭輻射污染。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
